Using linked playlists

If you find yourself spending as much time organizing your MP3s in the Finder as you do in Audion's playlists, then you may want to consider creating a linked playlist.

A linked playlist will automatically mirror a folder in the Finder. For example, if you have a MP3s folder on your hard-drive and you download some new files into it, when you open up Audion and a linked playlist, it will automatically rebuild itself and add the files you added. Linked playlists will track any additions or deletions to your folder.

Note: Unlike regular playlists, a linked playlist cannot be modified within Audion because it exactly mirrors a folder in the Finder. To modify a linked playlist, you must modify the folder in the Finder.

Creating a linked playlist

    To create a linked playlist:

1 Select New Linked Playlist from the File menu.
2 Select the folder on your computer you wish to mirror
3 A linked playlist will open up an will refresh with the contents of the folder you selected.

This allows you to easily organize your playlist to suit your needs.

The following icon will appear in the upper right hand corner of all linked playlists:

Note: Items in a playlist are merely pointers to files on your hard drive. You should keep your original MP3s on your hard drive even after adding them to the playlist.
